I Made The Paper!

While working at the flower store about a week ago, a lady from the OC Register came in to do an article on shopping small stores and shopping local. While she was there she took some pictures of everyone working and a few of me made the paper! The first picture also went on to be the front cover of the Dana Point Times!

Terry and Bret at the Ingleside Inn, Palm Springs

Terry is a close family friend, she is my good friend Jessica (see Ryan and Jessica's wedding photos below) mom and when she asked me to do her wedding flowers I was delighted an honored. Terry wanted red roses for her centerpieces and pink for the bouquets. Traveling to Palm Springs for this event wasn't a big deal; afterall, its family. :)

Matt and April at the Las Brisas Gazebo

April and Matt were married at the gazebo by Las Brisas restaurant in Laguna Beach. When I first met with April she wanted a cascading bouquet made with white carnations and roses sprayed blue. Being the flower snob I am (and the fact that a friend of mine was going to be in the wedding party) I convinced April into something a little classier.

Andy and Jackie at a Private Estate in Newport Beach

Andy and Jackie were married at a private estate in Newport Beach, CA. When talking with the bride she had a clear vision of what she wanted.. something simple and tropical....
This was a very fun wedding to do and I'm thankful for the opportunity!

The bride and groom both wore tea leaf leis with white dendrobium orchids. The bride also wore a head wreath made of white dendrobium orchids.
The best man wore a simple tea leaf lei.
The maid of honor wore a beautiful white dendrobium orchid lei.
The centerpieces were made in a cube vase filled with a greenish hydrangea and white cymbidium orchid blooms. Simple yet elegant!

Ryan and Jessica on the Destiny Yacht in Newport Beach

Jessica and I met in high school and soon became fast friends. In the college years we both did our own things and lost touch. I always wondered where she was and hoped we'd meet up again one day. I was working at the flower store one afternoon when her mom came in to order flowers and she told me Jessica had just gotten engaged! I was thrilled for her! I gave Jessica's mom my number and the next day got a call from Jessica. Since that day we've been the best of friends again, and I'm thrilled. When Jessica asked me to do her wedding flowers I was touched and very honored. She told me she wanted a very romantic feeling with her flowers, my mind went straight to Sahara roses. Sahara roses are awesome! They are a mix of blush, pink, cream and sometimes beige color, no rose is the same. I think that makes them unique and gorgeous! Jessica got married on a yacht that cruised around Newport that had an awesome picture window where the sunset ceremony took place. Well I think Jessica got her romantic feel; with all Sahara roses it was stunning!
The bride and bridesmaids all carried bouquets of Saharah roses.
Hanging kissing balls made of Saharah roses and green dendrobium orchids marked where the ceremony was going to take place.
This heart made of Saharah roses hung above th bride and grooms head table.
Awesome seashell cake and cake table.

My Mom's Birthday Bouquet

I used a cube vase with curly willow inside with 25 red roses and 5 stems of red spray roses. This got a big "Wow"!

Zac and Kathrine at Marbella Country Club

Katherine loved tropical flowers, so we decided to use lots of orchids for her wedding flowers. As you can see below the girls bouquets were made with white roses and green cymbidium orchids. The boutonnieres were dendrobium orchids and some of the reception decorations were tall vases with green dendrobium orchids and long white Hawaiian orchids. What a beautiful wedding and an awesome couple!
